Title: Warriors Don’t Cry: A Searing Memoir of the Battle to Integrate Little Rock’s Central High
Author: Melba Parillo Beals
No. of Pages: 312
Before I read this book, I only knew about the integration of Little Rock Central High School through history textbooks. But reading this memoir allowed me to learn more of this historical battle through the eyes of the author and the hardships that she and her friends had to face during the integration of Central High. The author also endured constant bullying in Central High, just as I had from 5th to 8th grade. Overall, I think this book inspired the racial equality that we have today.
Final thoughts: This book can inspire teens not to give up on themselves, be brave, and do what is right.
Popularity: A LOT of teens will REALLY LIKE it!
